Duane M. Lewis

Duane Michael Lewis, the son of Wilson E. “Gene” and Ione Vera (Knight) Lewis, was born on April 20, 1952 in Goldfield, Iowa. He attended school in Goldfield, Eagle Grove and a trade school in Des Moines.

After graduation, Duane worked as janitor at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home. He then went to work at the family service station – L & L Service for 30 years.

Allen Mechem, 94, long time Clarion resident, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021, at his winter home in Mesa, Arizona.

Please join the family as we honor and celebrate Allen’s life on Sunday, June 13, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the Red Shed Event Center in Clarion.

Duane Swanson, 67, of Hampton, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Dows City Park with Pastor Laurel Meester officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Dows City Park on Saturday, June 12, 2021.

Those planning to attend the Celebration of Life Service are invited to bring a lawn chair.

Erin Tegland, 78, of Clarion passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City.

Funeral services for Erin Tegland will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, 2211 130th Street rural Belmond with Pastor Jim Gochenouer officiating. Burial will take place at St. Olaf Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Shirley (Koethe) Crawford

Shirley (Koethe) Crawford, 91, of Russellville, AR passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021. She was born September 3, 1929 in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.

Bennie A. McGrath, 84, of Clarion passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City.

Memorial services for Bennie McGrath will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Clarion United Presbyterian Church, 219 First Street North West in Clarion with Pastor Bill Kem officiating.  Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarion.  

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Larry Lindstrom

Larry Gene Lindstrom, 82, of Clarion, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021 at his home. The family wishes to thank St. Croix Hospice for their care and wonderful attention that Larry received through this long and difficult time.

No services will be held. Friends may visit at his home.

Christopher Box, age 50,  a Rowan native, most recently from Mason City, IA, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center.  Visitation will be Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Homes, Belmond, IA, funeral services will be Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church of Rowan with a visitation from 1-2 p.m before the service.  Burial will be at the Graceland Cemetery, Rowan.

Robert "Bob" Polzin

Robert "Bob" Polzin, age 67, of Dows, Iowa, passed away on Monday,  May 10, 2021 at MercyOne in Mason City, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 13th at 11:00 am at the Boeke Funeral Home in Hubbard, IA.  Burial will take place in the Hubbard Cemetery in Hubbard.

Masks are requested.
