A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church and was live streamed on the Trinity Algona YouTube page. Burial followed at Riverview Cemetery and was live streamed on Oakcrest Funeral Services' Facebook page. Visitation was held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Oakcrest Funeral Services.

Betty Ann (Trotter) Christensen, the daughter of Glen and Bessie (McCutcheon) Trotter, was born March 23, 1930, on a farm northwest of Thor. She attended elementary school in Goldfield and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1948.

Scott R. McCormick, 61, of Clarion passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 26, 2021 in his home.

Funeral services for Scott McCormick will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, with Pastor Bill Kem officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Marian McConaughy passed away peacefully on June 16th, 2021 around 11pm - at Ventana Winds Facility in Youngtown, Arizona. She was predeceased by her husband Willard (Bill) McConaughy who passed away in 2016. She is survived by 3 Children, daughter-Debbie Schultz, and sons-Craig and Mathew McConaughy along with six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Caroline Eleanor Hiemstra, age 97 of Belmond, IA went peacefully home to be with her Lord and Savior June, 16, 2021. Caroline was born in Marshalltown, IA on April 30, 1924 to Ewald and Lilly Lorenzen. She graduated from Marshalltown High School and attended Marshalltown Junior College and Iowa State University where she majored in Home Economics.

Mildred "Milly" Nelson, 97, most recently of Belmond, IA, formerly of Goldfield, IA, died, Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the Iowa Specialty Hospital-Clarion, IA, with her family at her side. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, June 14, 2021, at St,. Francis Xavier Catholic Church-Belmond. Father Jerry Blake will be officiating. Burial will be in the Goldfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday at the church from 11:00-1:00 PM . Memorials her memory may be directed in care of Millie's family for their discretion to be determined later.

Duane M. Lewis

Duane Michael Lewis, the son of Wilson E. “Gene” and Ione Vera (Knight) Lewis, was born on April 20, 1952 in Goldfield, Iowa. He attended school in Goldfield, Eagle Grove and a trade school in Des Moines.

After graduation, Duane worked as janitor at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home. He then went to work at the family service station – L & L Service for 30 years.
