James Terry, 70, of Clarion passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial for James Terry will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 13, 2021 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 608 2nd Avenue North East in Clarion, with Reverend Jerry Blake officiating. Burial will be held at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Clarion.

Emma Darlene (Brannick) Anderson, 88, of Dows, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 1:30 PM at the Dows Community Center, 119 East Ellsworth Street in Dows. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Dows.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Monday.

Masks are strongly encouraged.

Laura J. Beenken, 77, of Clarion, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 201 3rd Avenue North East in Clarion, with Pastor Mike Gudka officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, and continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Joan Lucinda Frommelt

Joan Lucinda Frommelt, the daughter of Andrew and Veronica (Langel) Loecke, was born January 30, 1933, at Greeley, Iowa.  She was raised and educated in the area of her birth and attended the College of St. Teresa in Winona, MN where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

     On September 9, 1954, Joan was united in marriage to George M. Frommelt in Greeley, Iowa.

     Joan worked as a nurse at the Clarion Hospital for 30 years.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove.

Dan L. Ott, 68, of Clarion passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Fort Dodge Health and Rehabilitation in Fort Dodge.

Funeral services for Dan Ott will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, December 6, 2021, at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, with Pastor Bill Kem officiating.  

Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

Per Dan’s wishes please come wearing your favorite sports team or camouflage.

Mary Jean Hocraffer (Pick), 86, of Clarion, passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 25, 2021 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jean Hocraffer will be held at 2:00 PM on December 1, 2021 with visitation prior to services, starting at Noon at St. John’s Catholic Church, 608 2nd Ave NE, Clarion, IA 50525 with Reverend Jerry Blake officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Clarion.

Suzanne Deimerly, 80, of Clarion passed away Monday, November 22, 2021 at MercyOne Hospice House in Johnston, Iowa. 

Private funeral services will be held.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM without family present, at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion. Rosary service will began at 4:00 PM with scriptural wake beginning at 5:30 PM.

Jerry Weir, 76, of Clarion passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at the Clarion Church of Christ, 420 North Main Street in Clarion with Pastor Warren Curry officiating. 

Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM at the church on Wednesday.

Sharon L. Gardner, 85, of Clarion passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at her home.

Graveside services for Sharon Gardner will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion with Pastor Bill Kem officiating. 

Memorials may be directed to United Presbyterian Church in Clarion.

Sharon Lee, daughter of Glen ‘Sport’ and Valeria (Koerner) Bridges, was born on December 5, 1935 at home in Klemme. She grew up in the Klemme area and graduated from Klemme High School.
