Dateline: Clarion, Iowa Jim D. “Dozer” Morford passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.

Memorial services for Jim Morford will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, 201 3rd Avenue North East in Clarion with Reverend Mike Gudka officiating. A private family burial service will take place prior to services at the church.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion.

Ted Eugene Derscheid, son of Dick & Hester (Stanford) Derscheid, was born February 24, 1950, at Fort Dodge, Iowa. Ted grew up on a farm in Wright County, Iowa. He was active in 4-H, FFA, and wrestling. His senior year as a Clarion Cowboy he was the 1968 state wrestling champion. Ted furthered his education at Iowa State University, graduating in 1972 with a bachelor’s in science degree in agricultural education. While in Ames he met Nancy Lee Blois.

Carolyn S. (O’Neel) Threlkeld, 78, of Britt passed away Monday, March 28, 2022 at Westview Care Center in Britt.

Funeral services for Carolyn Threlkeld will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Ewing Funeral Chapel, 178 Center Street West in Britt, with Pastor Eric Schubert officiating.

Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion at 1:30 PM.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Ewing Funeral Chapel.

Doris Elaine Skrovig was born March 29, 1926 in Union, Iowa. The daughter of Wayne and Ada (Reece) Rhodes. She graduated from Dows High School in 1944.

Thora Jerene Peterson, 87, of Dows, Iowa passed away of natural causes on Sunday, February 27, 2022.  A celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 on April 2, 2022, at the Missionary Alliance Church in Blairsburg, Iowa.  The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Elner A. (Thomas) Pehl passed into eternity Thursday evening (February 17, 2022) at 9:50 pm.

Elner was born October 15, 1922 in Vesta, Minnesota to Denzil and Hildred (Jones) Thomas. She was the middle child of five. Elner’s two brothers Gordon and Roger and her two sisters Phyllis and Dolores all preceded her in death.

Steven C. Sebby, 65, of Clarion, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at First Lutheran Church, 420 First Street North West in Clarion, with Pastor Bill Kem officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

W. Gene Elston, age 91, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Solon Care Center in Solon, lowa.

Public visitation for Gene Elston will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion.

Funeral services will be private.

Lee Joseph Maxheimer (age 92), the son of Isel (Mechem) and Elmer Maxheimer, died at the Mercy One Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa on January 29, 2022. Funeral services will be held at the Ewing Funeral Home in Clarion (1801 Central Ave. East) on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor Bill Kem officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 starting at 9:30 am until service begins at 11:00 am at Ewing Funeral Home.

Earl “Bud” Odland, 95, of Holmes, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at his home outside of Holmes.

Funeral services for Earl Odland will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Holmes Lutheran Church, 2139 Hancock Avenue, rural Clarion with Pastor Ron Wik officiating. Burial will be at Holmes Lutheran Cemetery south of Holmes.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM at Holmes Lutheran Church, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
