George Donald Anderson, 92, long time resident of Dows, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton.

Funeral services for George Anderson will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Ewing Funeral Home, 114 East Ellsworth in Dows. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Dows.

Visitation will be on hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday.

Fern L. Spellmeyer, 75, of Clarion, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City.

A memorial visitation for Fern Spellmeyer will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion.

Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion following visitation on Friday, June 17, 2022.

Carolyn K. (Muhlenbruck) Keller, 83, of Clarion, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion with Pastor Cody Huber officiating. Out of respect for recent COVID concerns, only graveside services will be held.

Memorials may be directed to Carolyn’s family for the charity of their choosing.

Mark William Campbell, 50, of Rockport, Texas and formerly of Clarion, passed away at his home on Friday, May 13, 2022.

Per Mark's wishes, no services will be held.

Mark was born to Frank Campbell Jr. and Kay (Campbell) Peck on July 21, 1971 in Clarion. He graduated from Clarion High School with the class of 1990. He worked in automotive sales at Charlie Gregg Motors in Clarion for many years.

Linda Jean Weiss, 76, of Clarion, Iowa, passed away on May 22, 2022, at the Paula Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge.

Memorial visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, 615 Southwest 2nd Street in Eagle Grove.

Private family graveside service will be held.

A funeral service for Ron Baas, 67, of Algona, was held 10:00 AM Friday, May 20, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. The service was be livestreamed on the following link: https://youtu.be/KCWPcPwoRAM, and can be viewed there. Burial took place at River View Cemetery in Algona following the service. Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, May 19, at Oakcrest Funeral Services in Algona.

Opal Mae Smith, fifth of twelve children of Joseph and Jessie (Lowers) Shaw, was born in Exira, Iowa.

She passed away peacefully in Springfield, Missouri on April 30,2022, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.

She enjoyed being entertained daily by the deer and wild turkeys visiting their backyard.

Opal lived a full and active life and will be remembered for her fun-loving nature and devotion to family.

She was happily married for 63 years to Leslie Smith, former elementary school teacher in Clarion, who passed away in 2008

Melvin Beyer, 90, of Dows, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with a private family burial at the Fairview Cemetery in Dows.
