Colleen Mardella, daughter of Norman and Genevieve (Decker) Fluke, was born on December 4, 1943 in Indepence. She grew up in Waterloo where she attended East High School.

Roger L. Rollene, 78, of Clarion, passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Ewing Funeral Home.

Ryan Daniel Gangestad, 39, of Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Clarion, Iowa, passed away at his home on January 1, 2023, in Des Moines.

Memorial services for Ryan Gangestad will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, January 6, 2023 at The Red Shed Event Center, 908 2nd Street North West in Clarion.

Visitation will take place from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at The Red Shed on Friday.

Jule Hanus

Jule Hanus

E. Jule Hanus, the son of Emile and Faye (Yoder) Hanus, was born in Clarion, Iowa on December 28, 1941. He was raised on the family farm outside Blairsburg Iowa and educated in Clarion, Iowa and graduated with the “Class of 1960”. He was enlisted in the United States Army from 1960 to 1963.

On January 8, 1965, Jule was united in marriage to Karen Rieks at St. John’s Catholic Church in Clarion, Iowa to this union four children were born, they later divorced. On October 16, 2019 Jule married Charlotte Barreras in Council Bluffs.

John A Foust, the son of Elmer and Ione Foust was born in Clarion, Iowa on December 14, 1943. He was raised and educated in Dows, Iowa and graduated in 1961.

Naomi A. (Carlson) Post of Zumbrota, Minnesota (formerly of Clarion and Boone, Iowa) passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Zumbrota Care Center at the age of 93.

Naomi Adelheide Carlson was born February 14, 1929 in a farm house near Chetek, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Sigurd A. Carlson and Lillian Gertrude (Olson) Carlson and was next to the youngest of ten siblings. Naomi graduated from Chetek High School in 1946 and was nicknamed “Sophisticated Lady” in her high school yearbook, the Pine Cone.

Dorla Dean Hill, age 93, of Clarion passed away Tuesday, December 6th, 2022 at Thuesen Cottage Nursing Home in Cedar Falls.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church, 201 3^rd Avenue North East in Clarion, with Pastor Lewis Flanigan. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion.

Gerald Rockow, 79, of rural Belmond, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Ewing Funeral Home, 114 East Ellsworth in Dows, with Pastor Laurel Meester officiating. Burial will be in the Vernon Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Dows.

Visitation will be on hour prior to services at the funeral home on Saturday.
