The October 2020 meeting of the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Board of Education opened with a letter from the board of Kids Korner, the child care center that operates in space at the elementary school.
Kids Korner was facing a May 2021 deadline to move out. Its board asked for an extension to May 2024.
Child care is in short supply in rural Iowa, and finding a building that meets state licensing rules is expensive. For working parents in Clarion, the question of where Kids Korner would go was a big one.
