Starting Oct. 16, 2020, Iowa Specialty Hospital made rapid COVID-19 tests available to any of its patients with symptoms that suggested the virus.
Patients who were worried about symptoms, or who needed a test for another reason, were asked to call 844-474-4321 and talk to a triage nurse to set up an appointment. The nurse could also tell them whether a rapid test made sense.
Rapid tests returned results in minutes rather than the days that lab tests were taking at the time, which mattered as case counts in Wright County climbed through the fall.
