El Valle La Tienda Mexicana opened its new store in Eagle Grove on Friday, July 17, 2020.
The business wasn’t new to town. Manager Jaime Venegas said El Valle opened its first Mexican grocery store in Eagle Grove about eight years earlier, at 114 W. Broadway. That store stocked a wide range of Mexican foods and some American staples, along with gifts, candles and some clothing.
The new space gave the store room to grow. Eagle Grove’s Latino community has grown over the past two decades, with many families working in the area’s ag and manufacturing jobs, and stores like El Valle are part of what keeps Broadway busy.
