Dirt started moving in October 2021 on the new home for Clarion-Goldfield-Dows baseball and softball.

The complex is built around synthetic FieldTurf rather than natural grass. Superintendent Joe Nelson said the district hoped the site would get use well beyond the two spring and summer sports, with Clarion Parks and Recreation, the C-G-D golf program and the football team all expected to use it.

The target for completion was May 2022, in time for the following summer season. A turf surface means fewer rainouts and far less field maintenance than dirt infields and grass outfields, which matters in a part of the state where a wet May can wipe out a week of games.
