Ashton Kutcher grew up in Cedar Rapids and Homestead, in the Amana Colonies, and graduated from Clear Creek Amana High School. He enrolled at the University of Iowa to study biochemical engineering before a modeling contest took him to New York.
“That ’70s Show” made him famous, followed by “Punk’d” and a string of movies. He later replaced Charlie Sheen on “Two and a Half Men.”
Off screen, Kutcher became a serious venture investor. His firm put early money into Airbnb, Uber and Spotify. He and his wife, Mila Kunis, co-starred on “That ’70s Show” and later married.
He talks about Iowa often and has supported Hawkeye athletics.
