Daniel Ray Chapman, 65, of Des Moines passed away Monday, March 9, 2020 at Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona.

Due to Governor Reynolds’ current declaration for limiting attendance at public gatherings, services for Daniel are postponed until further notice. Thank you for your understanding.

Darlene M. Lehman, 84 of Clarion passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at MercyOne North Hospice in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion with Pastor Nicole Woodley presiding. Private interment at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Ewing Funeral Home.

Christine Ann (McKeever) McGinness, age 71, of Lake Mills and formerly of Dows, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion. Burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in rural Dows.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Ewing Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday.

Berniece Hiatt age 103, of Pocahontas, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at The Meadows in Clarion, Iowa.

Berniece was born September 3, 1016 to Margaret (Stegge) and Samuel Hiatt at her grandparents, Bernard and Mary Stegge’s home, in Pocahontas. She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Margaret Hiatt, sisters Eleanor, Louise and Jeanne and her brother Robert.

Beatrice Burt

Beatrice Mae Richards Burt, daughter of Clarence and Mary Richards, wife of John (Jack) R. Burt, passed away February 6, 2020 at the age of 93. She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church. Prior to her final residence at the Clarion Meadows Assisted Living, she and Jack resided at the Belmond Belle Haven Assisted Living, their home at Lake Cornelia, Clarion, Iowa, and their farm home 3 miles west of Rowan, Iowa.

Her body was given for medical research and a memorial celebration is being planned perhaps in the spring on Memorial Day. She was born on Memorial Day.
