               County Engineer Adam Clemons appeared before the Wright County Board of Supervisors this Monday to discuss possible work on drainage tile that goes under Page Avenue on the southeast corner of Lake Cornelia by the curve. Clemons explained there was been some problems with ponding on the southeast side of the road due to a possible blockage in the tile. The supervisors’ concern is about damage to the road when the water gets particularly high. Clemons said there is already cracking on the shoulder showing.

               As the July date for the new Iowa’s Ride bike ride looms ever closer, the Clarion committee to plan for the overnight stay in town is working on big picture arrangements. Organizing an event of this magnitude is by no means an easy process, but the committee is pushing through the hiccups. Recently, Clarion Chamber Director Ali Disney took up the reigns for the event when the former head decided to move on from Clarion.

                It may have taken a few extra days, but late last week, the Iowa Democratic Party released the results of the February 3 caucus. On the state level, with the slightest of leads, Pete Buttigieg appeared to come out on top with 26.2% of the total, barely edging out Senator Bernie Sanders with 26.1%. As of Monday, the Iowa Democratic Party’s (IDP) estimates stated Buttigieg received 14 national convention delegates, while Sanders received 12 (out of the state’s possible 49).
