Wright County Board of Health focusing on vaccines to combat COVID-19

Wright County Board of Health is aware of conflicting messages regarding mask use with COVID-19. As vaccines are more effective in preventing severe illness from COVID-19, the Wright County Board of health is focusing on vaccination as the more important tool for combating COVID-19.

Vaccinations have been used for decades to combat new viruses that cause serious illness or death. COVID-19 vaccine studies show these vaccines are safe and dramatically reduce the risk of serious illness, hospitalization and death from COVID-19.

WC Board of Health approves new tough emergency measures

In recognition of the large recent increase in COVID-19 cases across the state of Iowa that has already impacted the ability of our hospital system to care for all patients who require care, the Wright County Board of Health has approved the following new emergency measures:

1) Masks are required in all public indoor spaces in Wright County. When a mask must be removed for eating, the individual should maintain at least a six foot distance from other individuals (who are not in their group in the case of a restaurant or bar).
