Coaches report on CGD middle school fall sports

“It was an interesting year for the Cowboy 7th and 8th football team in dealing with COVID-19 and having a limited number of kids play,” said coach Monty Harker. “While we had enough 7th graders, we just didn’t have enough 8th graders. It took about two 7th graders just to equal one 8th grader, literally. I thought the 8th grade team improved a lot from last year, and beat some of the teams that had beaten them last year. For most of the year we were short on lineman, but had plenty of our specials. A lot of different 8th graders played other positions than they had in the previous year.
