Clarion city tax levy to go up by over a dollar

The Clarion City Council will move to take the final steps and approve the 2022-2023 budget at their March 22 meeting next week.

The budget for the upcoming year (which was published previously in the Monitor in the legal notice section) sets the city tax rate at $18.95542 per $1000 of taxable property value. That is a significant increase from last year’s rate of $17.75758. The levy rate for ag land is about $3.00 per $1000, about the same as last year’s rate.
