Feenstra wins reelection in Iowa’s 4th District

Rep. Randy Feenstra has won a second term in the U.S. House of Representatives with 67.4% of the vote over Democratic challenger Ryan Melton, based on unofficial results.

With 99% of precincts reporting Wednesday, Melton had 30.4% of the vote and Liberty Caucus candidate Bryan Jack Holder had 2.2%. The Associated Press called the race for Feenstra just after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Representative Feenstra visits ISH in Belmond

It was a busy week in Wright County for visits by government officials. On Wednesday, Senator Chuck Grassley was in Clarion. Then on Thursday, district 4 U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra made a stop at Iowa Specialty Hospital (ISH) in Belmond.

Feenstra, a Republican who assumed office last year, was in the area, just like Grassley, for his county tour. While at the hospital, the congressman toured various parts of the facility. ISH staff discussed the expansion of their mental health department and new smart monitor technology being piloted in patient rooms.

Feenstra stops in Wright County for roundtable

After taking office in January, 4^th District U.S. Representative Randy Feenstra visited Wright County last week. He made his first official county tour stop at Gold-Eagle Cooperative in Goldfield last Thursday.

Feenstra, a Republican, is a first term U.S. Congressman. He beat out long-time incumbent Steve King in the Republican primary earlier last year and then went on to defeat Democrat J.D. Scholten in the general election in November.
