A Groundbreaking ceremony was held Tuesday, May 25 for the new Daybreak Foods, Inc. facility that will be located just north of Eagle Grove on Hwy 17. As they transition some of their laying hens to cage-free, the need to process the eggs from these chickens presented an opportunity to construct the new egg breaking/raw egg production plant that will employ between 10 and 18 people.
Rick Roedl, Daybreak Foods Capital Projects Manager, stated that the company began looking for a location to build the facility about a year ago.
