The IHSSA State Speech Contest was held at Forest City High School on Saturday, March 13, 2021. Senior Kara Legleiter, daughter of Rodney and Sally Legleiter, started the day with a prose reading titled “The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes” by Gary Rubinstein and Mark Pett. The judges gave her two division I ratings and one division II rating for an overall division I rating. Kara ended the day with a radio news broadcast for which she received all division II ratings.
