The Wright County Monitor asked students to share what being a member of FFA (Future Farmers of America) meant to them. Ellie Mewes, a student from Clarion Goldfield Dows High School, shared in earnest how the organization has helped her.

FFA is a place where people who normally would not see each other can come together. It is a place where people with separate interests can have one shared interest. FFA is a safe place for many where they can create connections and make friendships that will last a lifetime. In this organization everyone has a place, it takes a whole community to support one another and FFA provides a huge piece of the puzzle.

FFA has helped me in my high school years in many ways. The number of doors that have opened simply because FFA is a national organization that is held to very high standards is numerous. I have got to do things that I never thought I would have like, spending ten days at the Iowa State Fair, making a secretary book that got recognized on the state level, and making many friends.

I will always hold the time I have spent in FFA dear to my heart and continue supporting future generations joining FFA.
