Steve Sebby

Steven C. Sebby, 65, of Clarion, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at First Lutheran Church, 420 First Street North West in Clarion, with Pastor Bill Kem officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Steven Cole, son of James and Susan (Cole) Sebby, was born on July 7, 1956 in Clarion. Steve grew up in Clarion and graduated from Clarion High School in 1974. After high school, Steve attended and graduated from the University of Iowa. He came back to Clarion where he worked and later purchased Coast to Coast Hardware. Steve owned the hardware store for 36 years.

Steve loved the outdoors - hunting, fishing, and being on the lake. He took trips to Colorado to elk hunt and was a member of Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed the lake life, living at Lake Cornelia and boat trips around the lake with friends.

Steve was a Boy Scout, achieving the highest rank of Eagle Scout. Steve was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church. He took great pride in the Clarion community and being active in town.

Steve is survived by his mother Susan Sebby of Clarion; sister Jayne Sebby of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother Scott (Deb) Sebby of Clarion; niece Leah (Kyle) Wiederin; nephew Grant Sebby; great-nephew Wyatt Wiederin; and fiancée Danny DeVries of Clarion.

He is preceded in death by his father James Sebby; and grandparents Joe and Alice Sebby and Ken and Lois Cole.
