Kris Dougherty Wins Latest Wright County Economic Development Photo Contest

Wright County Economic Development continues to be impressed by the beautiful Wright County area photos that have been sent to us. We are happy to announce that this quarter’s winner of our Photo Contest is Kris Dougherty of Belmond. Her winning shot is of a beautiful full arch rainbow over the Belmond Golf Course.
 

“There are so many photo opportunities in Wright County. You just need to drive and search them out,” said Dougherty. “But my most favorite is right out my back door as I live on the golf course with a beautiful creek running through and a wooden bridge that crosses it. It’s truly one of my favorite places and a prime location to capture sunrises and rainbows!! My other favorite spot would be Lake Cornelia.”
 

Dougherty submitted the rainbow picture, and several other photos, after a friend encouraged her to do so. Dougherty will receive $25 in Belmond Bucks as her prize for submitting the winning photo.
 

“I absolutely love Iowa, our small community in Belmond, and the surrounding area,” Dougherty added. “The kindness and support you get from other residents is truly the best!”

The Wright County Photo Contest launched in March 2023. We are happy to announce we will continue the quarterly contest through March 2025.
