DiAnn Peterson

DiAnn E. Peterson, 87, of Clarion, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion.

 

Funeral services for DiAnn Peterson will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion, with Pastor Doug Love officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

 

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  

 

DiAnn Elaine, daughter of John and Vista (Heck) Klooster, was born on December 6, 1934 in Webster City. DiAnn’s family moved to Britt when DiAnn was in 7thgrade. She graduated from Britt High School. Following high school, DiAnn worked at the telephone office in Garner.

 

In 1951, DiAnn met Morris Peterson. They were married in 1954 in De Monte, Indiana after Morris got discharged from the military. They made their home in Clarion for a few years before moving out to the farm where they raised their three children.

 

DiAnn worked at Rainbow Cleaners for 15 years and later worked in the cafeteria at the care center in Clarion. DiAnn was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Belmond for over 30 years and played organ and piano there.

 

Over the years, Morris and DiAnn traveled to various states to visit family and to spend time during the winters. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens. DiAnn loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

 

DiAnn is survived by her husband Morris of Clarion; sons Jerry (Cindy) Peterson of Milford and Terry Peterson of Clarion; grandchildren Jeff Peterson of Colorado, Ted Peterson of California, and Jacob Peterson (Kylie) of Rockwell; and two great-grandchildren.

 

She is preceded in death by her daughter Sherry Peterson in 2017; grandson Vance Peterson; and her parents.
