April 10, 2024 (Wright County, Iowa) - In 1917 the focus of Lions Clubs was primarily on business networking and community service. In 1920, the association adopted the motto "We Serve" as a reflection of their commitment to serving their communities.

At a recent Clarion Lions Club meeting, the District Governor presented Denny Bowman and Norm Carlson with certificates recognizing their long-time service to their community. Bowman has served for 30 years, and Carlson has served for 25 years.

Lions Clubs International is one of the largest and most active service organizations globally, with over 1.4 million members belonging to more than 48,000 clubs in over 200 countries and geographic areas. The organization continues to uphold its mission of serving communities and making a positive impact on the world.

“If you are interested in giving back to your community, consider joining the Clarion Lions Club.  The Lion’s meetings are at 6:00 P.M. on the 2nd and 4th Monday of every month at the Clarion Pizza Ranch,” shared Jared Carter with The Wright County Monitor.
