Todd Narber
Todd Anthony Narber, 54, of Hampton, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 surrounded by his family at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.
Todd was born on October 16, 1968, in Osceola, Iowa, to Jerry and Joann (Milbrath) Narber as the fourth of five children. Todd met the love of his life Holly Johnson when they were just 9 years old and began dating when they were in high school. He graduated from Chariton High School and received a business degree from the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. Todd and Holly were married on February 10, 1990, at First Lutheran Church in Chariton, and then became loving parents to two children Jordan and Chloee.
Todd operated many entrepreneurial jobs as a child, including his own lawn mowing business. He started working at Hy-vee when he was 14 years old and worked his way up to Store Director. After 27 years in retail grocery, he went back to his love of yard work and started his own lawn care company that he operated for 5 years before he retired. When Todd wasn’t working, he enjoyed fixing things around the house, working in the yard with Holly, fishing, camping, grilling, and most importantly spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He loved the Iowa State Cyclones and was a season ticket holder for over 15 years. Additionally, Todd made a huge impact in many lives, through numerous volunteer board and committee leadership roles. He was well known for his remarkable leadership skills and his impeccable hard work ethic and dedication. His family will remember his sense of humor and unconditional love.
Todd is survived by his wife Holly Narber of Hampton, son Jordan (Crystal) Narber and their daughter Cadence of Grand Island, Nebraska, daughter Chloee (Brett) Kramer of Norwalk, mother Joann Narber of Chariton, in-laws Michael and Conchita Johnson of Hampton, brothers Terry (Sindia) of Wyoming, Michigan, David (Lisa) of Lucas, Daniel (Melissa) of Altoona, and Gail (Tammy) of Republic, Missouri, sister-in-law Lori (Jeff) Carson of Loves Park, Illinois, brother-in-law Kurt (Michelle) Johnson of Spirit Lake, along with countless nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his dad Jerry.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Counsell Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 31, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hampton.
