Duane Kreitlow
Duane Lee Kreitlow, 77, of Sheffield, Iowa, moving from Missouri where he lived with his wife Donna for 25 years, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2020 at MercyOne Hospice of North Iowa. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 23, with eulogy read by his niece Janet McKee. In event of inclement weather service will be held at Retz Funeral Home, Sheffield.
Duane Lee Kreitlow was born March 30, 1943, in Clarion, Iowa, a son of Lauren and Luella (Senedfelder) Kreitlow. After attending school at Dows Community School he began farming with his father from 1960 until enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1963.
After being discharged in 1967 he once again farmed with his father until he began working for Walnut Grove in Sheffield. A few years later he began working for Sukup Manufacturing where he worked for 24 years until becoming disabled. He then moved with his wife Donna to Kirbyville, Missouri.
Duane and Donna Lee Oltman were united in marriage December 27, 1972. They had no children. Throughout the years, Duane enjoyed fishing and camping. His greatest hobby until his death was talking on the ham radio to different countries and also all over the United States.
Duane is survived by his brothers: Dennis (Jan) Kreitlow, Dows, Iowa; Dean (Vicki) Kreitlow, Papillion, NE; brother-in-law: Larry Davidson, Humboldt, Iowa and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife Donna, his parents, step-son Delmar Campbell, sister Carol Davidson, sisters-in-law Karen Kreitlow, Ione Oltman, Irene Matthews and Viola Kappen, brothers-in-law Harvey Oltman, Bob Matthews, Kenneth Oltman and nephew Gary Oltman. www.retzfh.com
