Mark Spellmeyer

Mark Spellmeyer, 74, of Clarion, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion.

Graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion following visitation on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

Mark Lynn, son of George and Donna (Delano) Spellmeyer, was born on August 15, 1949 in Mason City. Mark grew up in Clarion and graduated from Clarion High School in 1968. Following high school, Mark joined the Air Force.

On April 7, 1973 Mark was united in marriage to Fern Meyer at Calvary Baptist Church in Belmond. To this union Meghan Jean (Spellmeyer) Dow was born. Mark worked at Asgrow Seed Co. in Clarion for over 30 years before he retired.

Mark enjoyed driving around in his truck and watching the Hawkeyes. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them with their activities they were involved in.

Mark is survived by his daughter Meghan (Kent) Dow of Manchester, Missouri; two grandchildren, Brady Dow and Kennedy Dow; brothers Michael (Diane) Spellmeyer and Kevin Spellmeyer; sister Debra Spellmeyer; sister-in-law Marge (Stan) Pearson; brothers-in-law Vernon (Caroline) Meyer, Roger (Linda) Meyer, and Richard (Loree) Meyer; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Fern in 2021; parents; brothers-in-law Alfred Meyer and Gary Meyer; and sister-in-law Beverly Hulsing.
