Manie and Elmarie Nel are "enthused" about their business and the local community

The Nels took a chance when they bought and opened Clarion Locker in 2009. Looking back, Manie and Elmarie are glad they did. In the past nine years, as the business has grown and expanded, their enthusiasm hasn’t waned.

The twosome were born in South Africa and came to the United States. They knew that better opportunities were possible here.

“We thought we could improve ourselves by living here,” said Manie. “We worked for others for brief periods of time, but we thought being in business for ourselves offered the most opportunity.”

The enthusiasm with what the Nels are able to do, continues and is contagious. And the enthusiasm builds within their satisfied customers. Elmarie said, “We have people coming into our store from the Minnesota border, to Des Moines, and as far as the Missouri and Mississipi Rivers on the east and west.”
