Local musicians to perform with Fort Dodge Symphony

The Fort Dodge Area Symphony has felt grateful to resume performing for live audiences and will conclude its welcome-back season with a showcase of winners of our annual Young Artists Competition while offering a belated nod to the missed 250th birthday celebration of Beethoven and ending with a musical picture of George Orwell’s famous novel Animal Farm.

Two local musicians will be performing with the symphony. Tom Klaver is playing the trombone and Monte Leischenring the tuba.  The concert will be April 10.  It is at 3:00 pm at the Fort Dodge Middle School auditorium.

About this concert, Conductor Joshua Barlage says ‘it is always a highlight of our season to have the opportunity to perform with the winners of our annual Young Artists Competition, who represent some of the brightest and most talented young musicians in our state.  Our Symphony believes that the chance to perform as soloist with an orchestra provides these budding artists with a memorable and rewarding learning experience.’

They look forward to seeing longtime symphony goers and hope to meet some new friends that might be attending their very first concert.
