Lester says new response team is "great resource"

Though often behind the scenes, the eight members of the Wright County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will play a critical role in emergency and disaster situations.

Wright County Emergency Management Coordinator Jim Lester, County met with the volunteers of this newly formed group on the evening of August 27 to talk about their responsibilities and show them around the Command Center trailer.

“I think this team will be a great resource,” Lester said, adding how he was glad to now have one that can assist the other emergency responders in these types of situations.

The CERT concept is new to Wright County but these teams do exist in other counties around the state.
