Cowgirls score huge win at Iowa Falls-Alden

The Cowgirl basketball team Iowa Falls-Alden last Tuesday and were all over the Cadets from the opening tip. Jumping out to a 13-6 lead after the first eight minutes then extending it to a 21-9 halftime score, the ladies never looked back from there in a 44-14 win.

Raven Kinnetz poured in 15 points including a trey, with Morgan Middleton joining her at 11 points on 5 of 8 from the field. Courtney Harle scored seven points, Quinn Hansch and Lexie Lane three points each. Jadyn Jondle and Kendall Lienemann two points apiece and Emma Conlon one point. Middleton led the rebound column with seven, followed by Kinnetz with four and both Lienemann and Harle with three rebounds each. Jondle grabbed two caroms, while Nicole Waters, Conlon, Hansch and Emma Keller managed one each.

Kinnetz and Harle dished out two assists each, with Jondle, Lienemann and Middleton credited with one apiece. Kinnetz was tenacious on defense in getting five steals. Jondle, Conlon and Hansch all had two each, with Lane, Keller and Middleton making one apiece. Alaina Friesleben had a blocked shot.

“It was good to see us recover from a pair of losses against some tough competition,” stated head coach Adam Vorrie. “The girls put on an incredible defensive effort, which has continued to be our team’s strength.”
