Cowgirl golfers defeat two conference teams

Last Tuesday at the River Road course in Algona, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls varsity golf squad won a tri-meet over both Algona and Iowa Falls-Alden. The Cowgirls finished with a 217 total, defeating the Bulldogs by a single stroke as they posted a 218. The Cadets were third with a 236 total. Eden Polzin was the medalist with a 49, with Hallie Lovstad of the Bulldogs as runner-up with a 50 score.

Other counting cards came from Hannah Tew with 51, Katie Haberman with 58 and Jadyn Jondle with 59. Other rounds were played by Nicole Waters (61) and Emily Christensen (67). “As a team, we are improving and we must keep working on our weaknesses to keep our scores improving,” stated head coach Jeff Meyer.
