The Wright County Engineers Office was recently awarded with an impressive honor at the Asphalt Paving Association of Iowa’s annual convention. The office was presented with the Innovation in Construction Award for 2021. The award was granted for the county’s use of fiber reinforced asphalt on the C20 paving project. County Engineer Adam Clemons explained that they used Kevlar fiber mixed in with the asphalt during the project which gives two inches of asphalt the strength of three inches.
