COVID booster shots approved Wright County Public Health holding vaccination clinics 

According to Sandy McGrath, Wright County Public Health Administrator, effective immediately, the CDC recommends individuals who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine get a booster shot. The following groups are eligible for a booster shot at six months or more after their initial series:

● People 65 years and older

● People 18 years and older who reside in long-term care settings

● People aged 18 years and older with underlying medical conditions

● People aged 18 years and older who work or live in high-risk settings Resources:

● Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine EUA

● Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine EUA

Effective immediately, CDC recommends for individuals who received J&J

● People aged ≥18 years who received a single dose Janssen (J&J) primary series (1 dose) should receive a

COVID-19 booster dose at least 2 months after completing the primary series.

○ J&J vaccine does not have eligibility criteria for the booster dose.

“Doses are available for all individuals who wish to receive a booster,” said MGrath, clarifying that there is no shortage of supply.

Boost doses of Moderna and Pfizer will be available at the below listed three locations for those individuals who have finished their two-dose series prior to May 2021.  The J&J  booster will be available at Wright County Public Health on Tuesday and Thursdays 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 - 4 p.m. for those who have received a J&J vaccination prior to Sept 2021. 

Clarion Presbyterian Church: 9 - 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday October 27 

St Francis Catholic Church in Belmond: 1:30 - 3 p.m. on Wednesday October 27

Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove: 9 - 10”30 a.m. on Thursday Oct 28

Please bring your vaccination cards with you when you come for the booster shot.
