Lyle Kenneth Kapka

Lyle Kenneth Kapka, 62, of Clarion, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2145 Highway 3, rural Clarion, with Pastor Mark  Eichler officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Ewing Funeral Home, 1801 Central Avenue East in Clarion.

He was born on January 19, 1962 where he was raised in Rowan on an acreage. Creating many fond memories with his siblings and childhood friends. He later graduated from Clarion High School where he was actively involved in sports. Lyle was a long life member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Upon graduation Lyle moved to Ames, where he attended Iowa State University studying Animal Science. He spent many days closely following the Cyclones and creating memories with lifelong friends. After graduating, he moved back to Clarion to work for Nielsen's. While helping on their farm, he found a passion in working with animals. He then entered the swine industry where he worked for over thirty years.

Lyle and Brenda Marker were united in marriage on December 12, 1992. In the years following, they had four children, with whom they raised in Clarion. One of Lyle's favorite enjoyments was coaching and attending his kids sporting events. Lyle was known for his witty sense of humor and laughter, which was always shown through his annual Christmas letters.

Although he lived a prosperous life he endured trials. In his mid-50s he found out he had diabetes. Soon after he suffered a heart attack which required a quadruple bypass. His trials continued shortly after with more health complications, including a fall that caused him to break his leg and shortly later a stroke. During his recovery he brought home his four legged best friend, and biggest stress reliever, Theo.

Lyle leaves behind his wife Brenda Kapka, son Cody of Ames, daughter Hannah of Fort Collins, Colorado, daughter Emily (Kyle) Rooney of Ankeny, and daughter Nicole of Mason City. Lyle had two sisters Mary Hadley and Karen Genzman, an older brother Dave Kapka, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Lyle Kapka and Maxine (Smith) Kapka, and brother Charles Kapka.
