Wright County Economic Development welcomes new director

Starting this month, Wright County Economic Development has a new director.

Cindy Litwiller of Fort Dodge is settling in to her new office at the Wright County Courthouse, ready to start facilitating new projects and helping area businesses get the support they need to grow.

“I’m trying to learn about the projects and getting things organized,” said Litwiller. “There are a lot of projects. Communities seem to be excited about the possibilities and opportunities.”

Litwiller has spent the last seven years as the executive director for the Iowa Falls Area Development Corporation.

Her career path into economic development has been a varied one. With a background in manufacturing, health care, and public administration, along with four years on the Fort Dodge City Council, Litwiller has a broad range of experience in both the private and public sector.

“I think having that variety of background helped me get into economic development because I understand the needs of those various positions,” said Litwiler.
