Week three, "A Flash Back to the Bygone Years"

Editor's Note: Our apologies that there was no installment this past week of the "A Flash Back" feature.

This photo is of an open house at the Samson Ford Group, located next to the Clarion Theatre, in 1949.

As noted in the caption, Dick Beisell, father of David Beisell, both formerly of Clarion, was a mechanic there at the time.

He is a 1947 graduate of Goldfield High School.

Dick started working at the company in 1948 and continued to do so until it closed in 1960. Prior to that, he worked at the Johnson Body Shop.

The Beisell family lived right across the street from the Samson Ford Group building to the east. And Dick also worked at the Clarion Theatre part time to make some extra money.

Dick had moved up to the position of service manager by the time the business closed. After it did, the Beisell family moved to Algona.
