UDMO Back-to-School Bash helps students

School starts this Friday, and while it’s an exciting time for many kids as they head out to get their new supplies for the year, it can also be very stressful for some parents not knowing how they will finance the necessity of supplies.
For those with limited sources of income, or loss of a job, it can be tough to come up with the needed funds, not to mention money for the extra supplies requested for the classroom like tissues, sanitary wipes, hand sanitizer, and more.  To the gratefulness of some 64 Wright County families, that’s where Upper Des Moines Opportunity came in to help.
On Wednesday, Aug. 14, qualifying and pre-registered families were welcomed to the Memorial Hall in Eagle Grove.  Backpacks filled with varying needed supplies were handed out to approximately 150 students preparing to go back to class.
