Supervisors sign agreement with Community Services Network

Wright County Social Services Coordinator Jen Sheehan presented the Business Associates Agreement with the Iowa Counties Technology Services (ICTS) for Board approval and signature at this Monday’s Supervisor session.

The document provides Wright County with claims and payment services that ICTS provides that involves protected health information of these entities through its Community Services Network service.

The ICTS was created by ISAC (Iowa State Association of Counties), and runs the Community Services Network, which is a web application that allows the user to house data which can include health information. This also keeps the county up to standards with HIPPA regulations. HIPPA does allow a covered entity to disclose protected health information if the covered entity obtains satisfactory assurances that the business associate will appropriately safeguard the information. The Board reviewed and signed the document.

The Board also approved a one-year extension of the law enforcement agreement between the Wright County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Dows. According to Sheriff Jason Schluttenhofer, there are no changes in the contract and no issues on his part with the arrangement.
