Supervisors recognize October as Manufacturing Month

The supervisors signed a resolution recognizing the month of October as Manufacturing Month in Wright County. The resolution noted the manufacturing is a critical component of Wright County and Iowa in general with 6,080 firms in the state. It added, “Wright County congratulates all of our manufacturing companies for their contribution to the long-term stability of local and national economics.”

The board held a pubic hearing on a proposal to enter into a General Obligation Refunding Loan Agreement. This would refinance a 2010 loan in order to save an estimated $150,000 during the life of the loan. Auditor Betty Ellis noted she had not gotten any pubic comment on the action. The board passed a resolution to take additional action to enter into the loan agreement.

The board held a conference call with Reilly Construction and ISG engineers regarding their progress at the Agri-Business Park. Right now, Reilly explained that they are working on removing the water so they can work on the road. They also hope to start sewer work if the weather cooperates. The supervisors will continue the weekly calls with them.
