Supervisors okay signing of contract for Roads Union

At their regular meeting Monday, July 2, the Wright County Board of Supervisors approved the agreement between them and the Union representing the Secondary Roads department employees.

According the County Engineer Adam Clemons, who presented the document for signing, there is a three percent across the board increase for next year with new employees making 50 cents per hour less to start which will increase 25 cents after the first three months. After their probationary period, they will be on the regular hourly rate.

The contract also laid out the per hour salary rates for all employees. The Board approved a signed the contract, which now must be ratified by a vote of the employees following a vote to keep the Union. Clemons also reported that there was a little tree damage north of Clarion in storms this past weekend.

Water is also still running high on the Boone River. He gave a preliminary estimate of around $60,000 in damage countywide, a large percentage of that for a drainage pipe.
