Supervisors hear about a roadside management program

At this past Monday’s Supervisor meeting, Mike Heller with JEO Consulting Group of Ankeny presented information on a potential roadside program for the County. “By doing this program, you will open up a funding stream for an 86 percent cost-share from the DOT on purchases for management programs in Iowa counties,” said Heller. “That could be for anything to help manage roadsides.”

He want on to explain that the engineer’s office can apply for two different types of grants, one being for native grass and wildflower seed for the rightof- way which would be for approximately $10,000 worth of seed.
