Supervisors have very brief meeting

With almost nothing on the agenda except a visit with county engineer Adam Clemons, the Wright County Board of Supervisors Monday morning meeting also consisted of the usual weekly items of approving minutes and claims, providing open forum time in which no one was present to speak and updates on meetings of committees or boards that the members attended during last week.

Clemons told them that C-70, from Highway 17 to Woolstock, received 3 1/2 miles of asphalt using a new procedure. “It’s called asphalt inner-layer,” said Clemons. “One inch of the existing road is milled off, and replaced with one inch of asphalt with a higher oil content. Four inches of new asphalt are then overlayed on that. It’s the first time we’ve done this in the county, and the hope is to prolong the road from cracking.” The road has also been shouldered and painted.
