Supervisors discuss road bids and hear about new childcare program

The Wright County Board of Supervisors met on a blustery Monday for their regular meeting. The board heard from various county officials during the meeting.

First, Wright County Engineer Adam Clemons appeared to present bids for 3 different projects. The first project is road resurfacing with milling for R33, from IA 3 north 8 miles to 140th Street. Clemons noted the original engineer’s estimate was approximately $1.96 million. The low bid came in at $1.99 million from Heartland Asphalt, Inc. The board approved that bid. The second project is a continuation of the first and will replace pavement on C20 and R35 from R33 east 2 miles then north 3 miles to the county line. The estimate was approximately $1.54 million and the low bid, also from Heartland Asphalt, came in at $1.55 million. The board approved the bid. The potential start date on both projects is August.
