Keith Cook

Keith passed away peacefully, Saturday July 11, 2020, to join his parents Elbridge M and Miriam V (Trowbridge) Cook, sister Marilyn (Cook) Ehler, and brother James T Cook in their heavenly home.

He will be greatly missed by his two daughters Melanie J Bishop (Doug) Denver, NC and Amy J Thomas (Gary) Johnston, IA.

Keith leaves two step grandchildren Brian (Amy) Bishop, Nikki (Mark) Bright, and three granddaughters Emily Thomas, Erica Thomas, and Carly Thomas. Five great-step grandsons. He was extremely close to his surviving brother-in-law DeWayne Ehler and his three sons Jeff, Jay, and Ted.

Keith was born and raised in Clarion, IA and graduated high school in 1948. He then served as a Sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War and graduated from Drake University in 1954 where he played football, received a BS in Business, and metals for swimming and diving. He raised his daughters in Waukesha WI and was the founder and President of C S Hydronics, Inc. in Brookfield WI.

Keith had many interests; attending the Drake Football games and Relays, GB Packers football, model airplanes, playing softball, golfing, fishing, traveling and was a fantastic cook. He loved spending his summers since 1973 at the cabin he built by hand on Whitefish Lake in Wawa CN.

His family would like to thank Spurgeon Manor in Dallas Center, IA for the excellent care they gave him over the last two years.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday October 10, 2020 at Memorial Services of Iowa (4208 N. Ankeny Blvd.) A gravesite burial will follow at 11 a.m. at the Ankeny Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a memorial gift to Opportunity Village, P.O. Box 622, Clear Lake, IA 50428. Keith’s brother Jim resided there for approximately 17 years.
