ITC hosts Daddy Daughter Dance

The C-G-D High School Industrial Tech Club has announced that it will hold a fundraiser Daddy Daughter Dance for elementary school girls and their fathers on April 1, 6-8 p.m. at the High School. Preschool through fifth grade girls may be escorted by their father (or other father figure) for a night of dancing and fun.

“We’re hoping that the dance gives fathers—or people stepping in as father figures—an opportunity to show daughters the way they should be treated on a date,” said Tessa Yackle, one of the ITC trip leaders. Funds raised from the dance will go to the ITC seniors’ trip to Australia this summer.

Elementary students should have already received a flyer with an RSVP slip at school. Attendees will receive a 4x6 photo with the father/daughter(s), a free drink, cupcake, and access to games.

ITC member Megan Zwiefel said this particular fundraiser was one she’d been looking forward to since January, though the date was only recently set. She also wanted to encourage families whose fathers are unavailable to participate anyway. “We really hope maybe a brother or grandfather will step up,” Zwiefel said.
