Heartland Museum says "Thank you, Clarion!"

While visitors come from across the country and beyond to see the Heartland Museum, a lot of local people haven’t been in, or just haven’t visited in years. Friday night, however, brought close to 120 local people in for the museum’s season opening party. The group was a mix of long-time supporters and new friends, both of whom were appreciated by museum staff.

“Our theme is ‘It takes a village,’” said Mary Tesdahl, co-president of the Heartland Museum board. “To have a museum like this in a town this size is pretty unique.”

Visitors enjoyed food, a silent auction, and a chance to look at current exhibits. The museum officially opens for the season on May 27, with the traveling “It Takes an Iowan” exhibit featured at the State Fair coming for a special event on May 25.
