Gabby Hackley will educate Fair-goers about native bees

The native honey bee is a very ‘busy bee’ and important to our crops and other beautiful things in nature, not to mention the delicious product that is the fruit of all their labor. Gabrielle “Gabby” Hackley of Clarion has a passion for telling the story of that importance, and will be doing a board presentation at this year’s Wright County District Junior Fair on that very subject.

“I’m trying to help educate people on how important they are,” said the daughter of Terry & Melissa Hackley. She is a nine-year member of the Lake Clovers 4-H Club. “I will also do another flower arrangement, as I had a good fair last year with that, and probably take some baked goods also.” She also recently tried her hand at jam making. “I took a workshop for that,” said Hackley. “I then put up some jars of jam with mom one weekend.”
