Farewell, Dr. Nagel

On July 19, patients, friends, and coworkers of Dr. Tim Nagel attended an open house in his honor as he prepares to move to Colorado. His good-bye party was held almost 29 years to the day of his beginning his practice in Clarion.

Nagel said the move didn’t come from wanting to leave Iowa, but the opportunity to try a different kind of practice elsewhere. He’d spoken to a doctor in Colorado to get information on his unique way of handling insurance, and the conversation turned into a job offer. All but two of his nine children currently live in that area, and his family frequently vacationed there. “My kids grew up just knowing Colorado,” he said. All of his children but the two youngest have completed their schooling in the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows district. “It’s been a good place to practice, and a good place to raise a family.”

Nagel will miss both Clarion and his patients. “You wouldn’t believe how wonderful I have it. My patients are the best patients in the world,” he said.
