Ennis Corp. celebrates 50 years

Today, Ennis Corp is a thriving Clarion trucking business that employs about 30 drivers and 10 additional administrators, dispatchers, and mechanics. They haul refrigerated loads for companies like Hy-Vee, Monsanto, JB Swift, and Tyson across the Midwest and beyond. But in September of 1967, the company started with just one truck and one person hauling livestock: Pat Ennis.

If you ask him what’s changed in transportation over the past 50 years, Pat will say the answer is almost everything.

To celebrate 50 years in business, Ennis Corp. will be hosting a truck show on Main Street on Sunday, July 23. Entertainment will be sponsored by Fuel, and more than 20 fancy trucks will be on display.

“It’s just a way of showing the community what transportation looks like,” said Melinda Anderson, Pat's daughter and vice president of the company.

“The community’s been good to us,” Pat said. “I look forward to the next 50 years.”
